Getting Wood Stain and Varnish from Garment

My daft husband painted our outdoor chairs in his new shorts recently and they dried before I noticed. I have washed them loads but the dark brown varnish color just laughs at me. What about turps or paint stripper, would that leave holes. Probably will need to bin them, thanks

Try rubbing (isopropol) alcohol. It got the stain off the doorknob when I messed up painting a door. Probably not as strong as turpentine or paint thinner.

You could try what you buy to strip the stain off of wood for the type you have. Also acetone might work, but make sure the fabric has no synthetics in it. At this point they are only good for doing chores in anyway, so try everything you can.

I don't have any suggestions but just wanted to let you know I feel your pain. My husband does the same thing when painting, etc., and it drives me CRAZY!
