We had to use dawn (no other kind worked!) twice a day for two days. And try the boon water deflecting spout cover, like a waterfall she can put her head under. And put butterflies on the ceiling, stickers or hanging ones!
my two yr old daughter put ALOT of vaseline in her hair earlier this week. That day I washed it 4x. Every day since I have washed it atleast 2x and its still not coming out and her hair is still so gross! I have been using my shampoo, not the baby shampoo. What would work to get it out that isn't going to really burn her eyes? She already HATES getting her hair washed.
Thank you

I just went through this with my two year old. Here's what we did. Very easy and didn't bother him or cause his eyes to burn.
We put corn starch in his hair, rubbed it all around so his whole head was covered. Then we let him run around like that all day, it soaked up the vaseline and made it so it wouldn't rub off on the furniture anymore.
At the end of the day I washed it out with baby shampoo and he was good as new. Easy!
I would mix some baking soda into a pitcher of warm water and run it through her hair, and then wash it (again).
Wow, if vaseline stays in that well maybe it would be a good hot oil treatment for mine....? I might try it :)
Actually, you MAY want to try the baby shampoo. It is very harsh. The only reason it doesn't create tears is because there is an anesthetic added to it. Do you know anyone with Shaklee products? I bet the Basic H2 would take care of it instantly.
.
I once saw an episode of America's Next Top Model where Tyra Banks put Vaseline in the girls' hair. She told them to use dishwashing soap to get it out. I say give it a try.
It will come out eventually. Just wash it every night with regular shampoo. It is like a really good hair treatment lol
Try washing her hair with Dawn dishwashing liquid and rinsing with vinegar water. It will come out but it may take time.
A clarifying shampoo should work...I've used Neutrogena, and it seems to work well -- with gum, anyway. I've also used it for my own hair which gets really oily quickly.
Check with a local salon/stylist. I'm sure they've had experience with this kind of thing before.
Dawn dishsoap should do the trick. You will still probably have to wash it a few times, and there may be some residual greasiness for awhile, My son put Eucerin cream in his hair once, and the only thing that worked was the Dawn. Good luck.
Well the only thing I can think of is something that will get the oil base out. And that would be something like Dawn or Ivory dishwashing soap. It will cut through the greasiness of the vaseline. You may have to use it a few times before it gets it all the way out. I also suggest using a clarifying shampoo when all the greasiness comes out. It will help wash any left over residue from the vaseline. You will just have to lay her on your counter by the sink and wash her hair that way. If you have a spray hose for the sink, that would be very helpful.
Good Luck!
