Have you tried chocolate milk? To me a little extra sugar is worth it, if it means he gets the needed benefits of milk. Especially if he's as active as my 20 month old son.

My daughter took milk in the bottle as well and we had to cut Dairy almost completely due to allergies and do Almond Vanilla milk and she loves it. We also do some yogurt & white cheeses but a lot of dairy at this age is usually hard on their systems. If you're doing a lot of veggies those give a lot of the same vitamins as the milk. Cows Milk isn't always the best for any of us, esp. little ones. I'm not a health nut but slowing her down on cows milk dairy (and doing a lot of research) has made a huge difference to her congestion, coughing, tearing eyes etc... The Vanilla Rice or Almond Milk has the same amount of vitamins as cows milk also. Good luck!

Neither of my girls could quite get the hang of lifting a sippy cup up to drink, but when I got them the sippy -straw- cups, they had no problem with those. We also like Ovaltine, since in addition to the flavor, they get extra vitamins.

Good luck!

I had the same problem and started giving my daughter vanilla in the milk or strawberry and it solved the problem. The doctor told me a little vanilla and/or strawberry in the milk is a great idea because getting the nutrients from milk was more important. You can use the powder kind that adds even more nutirents to the milk.

With my son, I had just as much trouble. I had to mix drinkable yogurt with his milk at first (50-50). It made his milk kind of sweet and fruity, but he was getting fluids. I did this for about two weeks. After he started dirnking a lot, I cut it back to (25-75 y/m) after a couple more weeks, I just had cut it back so much that he stopped noticing it altogether and just drank him milk.

PS. I used a good healthy yogurt, not gogurt (it's nothing but sugar!!)

My son wont drink milk anymore. I give him yogurt in a sippy cup, pieces of cheese, cereal and milk in a bowl with a spoon, and started him on chewy vitamins.

All of the literature I have read says that you should get your toddler to skip the sippy cup and go straight to a real cup. Apparently, sippy cups stifle their development. If your child doesn't want the sippy cup, it's probably for the best.

Try warming it up in the microwave. New sensation worked for us!

Have you tried a straw? Most children that age learn pretty quickly.
