Hi Mamas. We're done having babies! Now it's time for me to clear out the basement of all our major baby equipment (crib, bassinet, high chairs, stroller, swing, etc.)
Have any of you found successful ways to sell your stuff? It's a terrible time of year for a garage sale, so that's out. Hence, I've been trying to utilize "Craigslist," but nothing seems to be happening.
I priced all my stuff significantly lower than any of the other ads (for the exact same stuff!)...but I'm wondering if people think my stuff in poor condition, since I priced it so low. Do you think that is possible? I really just want to get rid of the stuff at a "garage sale" price and not gouge another family. I posted a picture of every item, to try to show that everything is in excellent shape. I don't know if this is helping.
Can you offer me any successful selling tips from your experience? Or alternative methods for selling? Thank you so much for your ideas!
Well, I did it! The baby equipment is gone -- and all before Christmas! I had some success with Craigslist and Once Upon a Child. Anything that didn't sell was given to Goodwill and Salvation Army. Thanks everyone!

Have you tried Once upon a child? Or you can donate to a daycare center. They tend to look for stuff that is in good working condition.
I don't know where you're at, but you could try napervilleyardsales.com. The site is always "closed" on Sundays, but you can list up to 10 items at a time at no cost. I know from experience that you can definitely get more for your items selling privately than what you could selling through a garage sale. Once you decide where to list your items, you might want to do a search to see what other people are asking for similar items and then list yours at a slightly lower price.

I'm not sure where you live, but they have baby resales at DuPage County Fair Grounds in March, there are a bunch of different organizations that allow you to sell your stuff.
Also some churches have kids/baby resales where you can sell your baby stuff.

I tried selling stuff this time of year, and with the holidays coming up, nothing moved. I was under the impression that this just isn't the right time to sell used gear. If you can wait until spring to have a garage sale, that might be your best bet(if you can spare the space).

Since it does not sound that you are very concerned about the financial side of getting rid of the toys/gear, you might want to consider donating the items. The Women's Center is a crisis pregnancy center and they are always looking for donated baby items to give to expectant mothers (completely free of charge). www.womens-center.org This is a pro-life organization, but I know many pro-choice people hail the organization for their nonjudgemental approach and donate to the organization. I do not know if they pick up, so you might have to drop the items off. If you need someone to pick them up, you can call the St. Vincent de Paul Society to arrange for a pickup. Their donation service line is ###-###-####. They provide clothing and shelter to the poor, so your items will either be provided to those in need, or they will be resold at their thrift store, and the proceeds will be used to help finance their giving. [Your donations are tax-deductible, and they will provide you with a receipt.]
I also missed the garage sale season, since I can't really conduct a garage sale while caring for a baby and energetic little boy. I'm having them pick up 1/2 a garage full for me in a few weeks, once I finally finish packing up the dishes.
