You can buy a clothes shaver at most any store such as WalMart or RiteAid. You can also use a razor but you run the risk of cutting the fabric. The clothes shaver does work very well for me.
I washed my daugters schools uniforms just as I have done since school started and for some reason this time her jumper dresses came out of the dryer full of lint balls !! The typical sticky lint roller is not working for me. I know I spent at least an hour on one dress trying to pick them off with little success. Does anyone has any advice???
Hi Guys thanks for all the advice. I went to Target and brought an electric sweater shaver. It was the best $5 I ever spent. It worked perfectly well, I was afraid to use a razor I did not want to risk the chance of cutting the uniforms (expensive!!). Thanks to everyone that responded, I truly appreciate it !!!

They drive me crazy! LOL!
I have used the d-fuzz-it sweater/fabric comb. It takes a few minutes but it works.
I'd wrap some duck tape around your hand and give that a try.
You could get one of the sweater razors, that's what I call it. It runs on batteries and you just rub it over the clothing and it will remove sweater balls. lint even a loose string. I wish I could remember the correct name for it but just go into a department store like wal-mart and they can help you find one. It is very fast.
Try a disposable razor and shave off the lint balls - have to be careful not to cut the fabric of course. Some stores sell lint shavers (battery operated), but I've not had much success with them.
Duck tape - has more stickyness than the lint rollers.
Good luck!

It sounds like you may have gotten a uniform constructed of poor quality material. If you ordered it from a catalog they usually have a guarantee. Even if you purchased them from target, you should be able to return them.
I had the same problem with my daughter's uniform shirts and I returned them. They did replace them but with the new set, I only washed them on the gentle cycle. This will help prevent the material from breaking, which is the cause of the lint balls.
Take care
You need to get a sweater shaver. They well them at Target or any fabric store. You turn the machine on and run it all over the garmet and it takes the balls off. Will also make your old sweaters look new again.
Hey,I just wanted to mention that I used to have that happen alot with my kids clothes. I went to walmart and got a little hand held battery oper. shaver thing. Not sure what the real name is but it works.I seen some a while back in the laundry section. You could call them and see if they have them in stock. I hope you find one. Good Luck.
I don't have a long-term solution (so they don't come back), but the unofficial way our military members keep their uniforms nice is disposable razors. Just shave those lint balls right off! :)
Use your razor you shave your legs with, it works every time. This works great on furniture, also. Lightly go across fabric. If it's a large area you may need more than one.
A Sweater shaver will work in just a couple of minutes.. You can get them anywhere & they are cheap. Did you by any chance leave a sock or wash cloth in the washer from a previous load? What else was in that load?
buy an electric fabric shaver. They are about $10.
Don't you just HATE THAT?? Get an all rubber brush from Walmart in the pet dept. and try it. I love it for dog hair, but if that doesn't work then gently use a razor that you shave your under arms with and that will cut the fuzzy connection loose. Do not go side ways with the razor or you will cut the fabric.
Give it a shot, hope it works for you.
Try using a disposable razor to shave the material.
Of nothig else works take it to the laundry It happen to me and the dry cleaners was able to help me out
You could try a fabric shaver. I think sell them just about anywhere.
Good luck!
Try using a sweater/fabric shaver. They're fairly inexpensive and work wonders.
Any chance there was a towel or a fleece in the dryer with the clothes. I am terrible about sorting laundry, colors I do fine, but fabrics--not so much. However, I learned the hard way that I have to keep the towels and fleece etc away from things I don't want to have to de-lint later.
I too use a regular razor when I need to get the lint balls off. I just use the cheap single blade ones from the Dollar Tree.
Good luck!
