Hello to all moms. I am having a little problem with my new apartment. Me and my son just got our new place in May but did not actually moved in until the last part of July. When I first checked out the place back in May, it did not have a big problem but I had them to spray every week. All of a sudden, when we moved in a she gnats and roaches. I do not know where they are coming from because I keep my house clean. I thought it was coming from the upstair neighbors because they have a dog and I first found the gnats around my bathroom/kitchen drain. I have bleached my whole house and poured it down the drain. It is really sad that I can not leave anything out on the counter for a few seconds and it has gotten so bad that I find them in my ice box. I am running out of options because nothing is working. I also tried the vingear thing. Can you please help with the situation because it is time for me to kick them to the curb?

if it is an apartment then they should be responsible to spray...which is prolly the only way to get rid of them...but its very hard in apartments to keep them away...
i would also get roach traps & put them under sinks & behind the fridge...
good luck!

You need to tell your apartment manager that this is unacceptable and they either need to rid the problem or move you to another unit. Its unlivable conditions and renters have rights and I know this is one of them to live in a bug free environment!!! DONT take no for an answer and refuse to stay there another month without a resolution! I would tell them they have 30 days or less to fix the problem or they need to move you to a new unit. If not you will go to the media, and seek legal advise for your rights as a renter. Let me know if you need help I'm a legal assistant for civil litigation. Good Luck and be tough!

I think the bugs that you think are gnats are actually called drain flies, they feed off organic matter in the pipes. We had an infestation of them tis time last year (our house is clean, too, it's not about cleanliness or lack of cleanliness) and spent hundreds of dollars buying all these specialized products to put down the drains, had our garbage disposal replaced, and had two differnet pest control companies out who said they couldn't do anything better than we were doing. After all the money we spent, regular grocery store stuff ended up working the best. Get some heavy duty Drano or other drain cleaner and flush the pipes several times (as in over a period of days...just keep pouring it down there!)this will get rid of the larvae. After that, use bug foggers (use the maximum amount of foggers per the square footage of your apartment) to get rid of the adults. If it doesn't work the first time around, repeat as soon as you can. These bugs are tenacious. They almost my husband and I mad last summer, but we did finally eradicate them. Good luck!

Your apartments HAVE to FIX this for you. Keep HOUNDING them until they do. Do everything IN WRITING and KEEP COPIES. TAKE PICTURES!! If they don't fix the problem, MOVE OUT!!! You can break a lease when living conditions are not made sanitary and livable...bugs do NOT fit that description.
