Getting Pregnant After Birth Control? Camilla Vs. Ortho-tricyclen

Hi Ladies,
I've been taking the low-dose Camilla pill for 18 months since my son was still nursing. I stopped taking it Jan 27, since my hubby and I would like to start trying for baby #2 this summer. Before our son, I was taking Ortho-tricyclen and it took me 3 months to start ovulating then 2 months to get pregnant- so I figured I would need about 5 months to get pregnant again. Well, so far my last period was on Jan 6! I seem to get some light spotting every 2 weeks for a few days, but no period. Has this happened to anyone else? How long did it take you to get your normal cycle back after stopping Camilla? Do I need to get a pregnancy test?
Thanks everyone!

What can I do next?

I don't know much about Camilla, but I was on orthotricyclin for years before the 1st and it took 8 months of trying. I was back on the pill after the 1st was born and it took only 2 months after stopping to get preg with second. It didn't even take a month for #3. I have friends that got prego just missing 1 pill, so it could happen.

Camilla can also suppress your cycle entirely (vs the pills with the sugar pill week) so maybe your body is taking longer to adjust. Remember, too, that you are still nursing, right? That can affect your hormones, too.

I was on the mini pill after my little one was born. I had my purse stollen about 6 months after she was born and my birth control was in it. Well my insurance would not pay for more until the previous pack was suppose to run out. Well needless to say I was pregnant before that happened (I only had about 2 weeks worth of pills left in the pack). I didn't think that I could get pregnant that fast after stopping the pill but it happened I am now 5 months pregnant. So plan stopping around the time that you want to start trying. I know that it is not the same for everyone but just so you know it is possible for it to happen soon after.

It is only supposed to take 1 cycle to get pregnant. I was on Yasmin and got pregnant the month after I stopped the pill. Camilla is less reliable so you should be able to get back into the swing really soon!

What a coincidence--we used the same two forms of BC.

I was pregnant with both my first and now my second within less than 3 months after stopping both Orthro and Camila.

Everyone can be different. I got preggo on the pill the first time, it took 3 months off it the second time. The Camilla works differently so it is possible that it will happen quicker.
