Getting Married in a Hot Air Balloon!!

I once read about a couple that did this. It sounded awesome. They had everything setup in the field (chairs for guests, arch and flowers etc). After they said their vows, they got into the balloon and lifted off as husband and wife. The bride threw her bouquet from the balloon when it was 10 feet up. They had some kind of hor d'ourves on the side for guests to have a light lunch and to mingle and then had the reception later in the evening.

But be prepared because a balloon ride is very dependent on the weather conditions and too windy means no lift off.

Never have done this, but it sounds so cool. When I was a little girl I used to dream about my wedding, and I always fantasized about throwing the bouquet as my new husband and I took off into the sunset in a hot air balloon!! I guess if I were you, I would do the ceremony on solid ground so family and friends could participate, but then do the ride off in a balloon instead of the traditional limo. Of course, if you want to do the actual ceremony in the sky, then do it, it's your day! Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

Hot air ballooning is so much fun! I am scared to death of heights but i took my first balloon ride at 12 and i LOVED it! Im from Albuquerque and of course there are LOTS of Balloons here... I think its such a fun idea to get married in a balloon. I dont know when you are thinking of getting married but i bet you could find someone willing to do it during balloon fiesta, first 2 weeks of october. Congrats!

My best friend and her husband got married with the rising sun in a balloon. They LOVED it.

i have never done it but my best friend's parents renewed their vows by bungee jumping out of a hot air balloon. they said they were old and gonna die sometime so if anything happend might as well go out with a bang... lol.. the pics were awesome to see!
