Hi,
We have a brick red color microfiber sofa and my youngest decided one day to "decorate" it with ball point pen. I used hair spray and it worked like a charm and then when the pen was off.. it felt a little sticky from the hair spray so I used a damp sponge with a tiny bit of dish soap. Hair spray will also remove ball point off clothes too :)
Best of luck,
Lenc

I use Kids and Pets on everything. Gets almost anything out of anything. You can get it at Fred Meyer, or Safeway. Maybe other places, I have not looked.

Tj, I have five children and a microfiber secional and needless to say I have had everything imaginable written on my walls and my couch. The best I have found for the microfiber is alcohol wipes. Or just rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball. I have found that this works better than baby wipes and the alcohol dries faster so as to not leave water rings. for the wall. the only thing I use is Mr. clean magic Eraser. it takes off everything even permanant marker. the only thing that has ever been a challenge for Mr Clean is ink pen but a little hair spray and it comes right off the walls. Good luck.

Hi,
One more suggestion is a product called "Awesome" that comes in a spray bottle. Believe it or not, the only place I have found it is at Dollar Tree. It will take Sharpie out of carpet, stains out of clothes and just about any stain. It is a miracle product but I am surprised it is difficult to find in stores.
Good luck!

I found that a damp rag and a bar of nuetrugena soap works like magic! just rub the damp rag on the soap and then rub the rag on the stain. You have to make sure it dries or you can get water stains. But it got a nice pen picture off of my brand new otteman. Good Luck

when we bought our microfiber couch the salesperson told us that baby wipes would get just about anything off of it. and it has! sometimes it takes a BIT of hard scrubbing - but always works.
when my daughter drew on the wall with sharpie i looked all over online ..we used magic eraser for the most part but theres still some there. some people suggested brake fliud (yes for the car) because its strong enough to clean it but wont take the paint off too. havent had a chance to try it yet but thought id throw the idea out there

I am pretty sure that you can use alcohol(isorbyc-not sure the spelling) on the micro fiber.
And the Mr. Clean Magic erasers will take off the highlighter on the walls. I love those things. I haven't found anything they don't clean. Even took a permanent sharpie mark off my counter top.
Good luck

Ditto on the alcohol or baby wipes for the microfiber. I've used nail polish remover to get markers off of furniture and the wall. FYI: if crayons happen on the wall in the future...WD-40 works great!

TJ,
I don't know about the sofa, but the Mr. Clean magic eraser will get the highlighter off the walls. My MIL is a preschool teacher and uses them in her classroom, and at home. I found out about them through her. I've used them at home and they take dirt and grease off the walls like a hot knife through butter. Crayon and pen are just slightly harder to get off the walls.

I have had experience with BOTH! The ink pen can be taken out of the microfiber couch with plain rubbing alcohol (also call isopropyl alcohol). I purchased a small bottle for .43 at the local Target. It took a few cotton balls - blotted it out in minutes.
The highligher I inherited in a rental home. I painted over it a few times only for it to come right back. You have to put Kilz on it first. It comes in a spray can if you have only small areas in need. Then you paint over that once its dry. The markings will not surface again.

I'm not sure about the pen (We coped out and bought black furniture), but Mr. Clean magic erasers have taken all forms of pen and marker (including black permanent) off our walls without stripping the paint. Good luck to you!

Believe it or not, aerosol hairspray will get ink out of fabric. You will need to spray a little, spot with water, spray a little, spot with water until it comes out. You might want to do an inconspicuous spot check that the hairspray will not stain the couch material first.
Get the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers for the highlighter on the walls, I swear they really do work! You might get the one with the scrubber side to scrub a bit.

Hi TJ, I know rubbing alcohol works great for getting pen out of washable fabrics. You could try dabbing it onto the sofa with a clean white rag. Good luck! K.

TJ,
I've used those MR.Clean Magic Erasers for permanent marker on the walls and it took a few times, but everything is gone. We're talking about a 2'X1' area of black and red sharpie. I love them.
For everything else, I always try diaper wipes first. For some reason they work on carpet stains and nothing else does.
Good luck with the microfiber. That one I'm not sure.

I know this sounds crazy but Mr Clean Magic Eraser! My sister had an "incident" when her 2yr old thought he would draw on ALL her funiture (it is microfiber also). She thought she had nothing to lose so she gave the magic eraser a try and she saved her livingroom set!! Oh, kids are just amazing aren't they? :)

Wow...I'm going to try the hairspray trick. And my goodness, don't you just LOVE baby wipes?
What we've used for permanent pens/markers on walls, or sharpies on toilet lids (OMG full hand outline a completely filled in) Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Sharpies take repeated applications, but everything else has come off in one! Yay!! We don't use them often, but I'm NEVER going to look at the ingredient list on those. They could be harmless, but on the off chance, I'm not checking.
