We were just given a dresser, and it has a mild cat smell. I've heard of using coffee grinds, but I'm not sure if you mamas have any better ideas! Thanks!

What can I do next?

Try baking soda - it's an odor eater. It may take a while to work with whatever you use because cat's have such awful strong odors.

You could also try vinegar and putting it outside. The vinegar will smell too, but that will eventually go away, even faster with it being outside. I don't know how well it would work on cat smell, but it worked great for us on smoke smell.

I have used a product put out by bissell. Its called Pet stain and Odor remover Enzyme-action. It's non toxic. You might test is on a small section first. It's for carpet and floor boards so I would think you could use it on a dresser.

Long story short: we rented our house to someone without out permission brought in a male cat that marked his territory in every corner of the house. The spray helped a tone. Now you wouldn't have known a cat was in our house. We had the carpet cleaned but the boards still stunk till I used the spray.

Good luck.

I've been told that charcoal is a natural filter for odors. Place the charcoal in a plastic bag. Leaving the plastic bag open, place it in the desired spot to eleviate the odors (in your case, you may need to put some in every dresser drawer). Good luck
