Hello! We are looking at appliances and I'm hoping to get some feedback before we choose. Has anyone purchased or heard anything about the GE clean steel line that is finger print resistant or the Whirlpool Duet sport front loaders?
Any opinion or feedback is appreciated.

I can't say that I am familiar with either model, but I do work for a company that GE and Whirlpool are both customers of. As far as which is a better product, I would say GE. Both are great, but we do failure analysis to make sure products are not going to have failures. GE definately takes every precaution to make sure they are producing the superior product. Every supplier they use has to be tested as well. I would buy GE because they back the quality of their product.

I bought the Whirpool Duet, not the sport, when I bought it Consumer Reports rated it number one at the time which was about 1 year ago. I have had absolutely no problems with it and it has so much room I can wash a weeks worth of laundry for a family of four in 1 load for each sort(whites, colors, delicates etc.) I would recommend it to everyone. Hope this helps with your decision. Good luck with your pregnancy.

We had the Whirlpool Duets(the full sized ones). We got them last year. Only problem we had was the liner ripped out of the washer. It was still under warranty from where we bought it from, so they replaced it with the Duet sport. I LOVE THEM!! One bit of advice though. After you are done washing laundry, leave the door on the washer open for awhile so it dries out. If you don't, your washer will smell funny. I have six kids, so these really come in handy.

I'm not sure about the GE brand, but we just purchased the Whirlpool duet. I absolutely love it. I can fit SO much in it and we haven't had any problems so far(had it for 3 months now). It is very efficient and gentle on our clothes.

My husband and I built a new house in 2006, and bought all high-end Whirlpool appliances. We didn't buy the Duet, but every appliance we bought except the diswasher and dryer had problems within about 15 months of buying them (range, refrigerator, microwave, washer and whirlpool tub motor). We don't trust Whirlpool at all, and wouldn't buy another appliance built by them for anything. If you have your heart set on the Duet, I highly recommend getting an extended warranty. When our washer went out 13 months after we bought it, Whirlpool basically told us, "too bad." When we threatened to report them and listed all the problems we had with their appliances and had already bought a new washer, they agreed to repair our old washer. A lot of good that did after spending $500 on a new one. . .
