Hi all!

My husband and I are taking our 1.5 year old son and 3.5 year old daughter to Gatlinburg, TN for 8 days at the end of this month. He has been to Gatlinburg once with me, and I have been so many times in my life it is like a second home.

I have not ever been down there with kids though. lol Has anyone been there with small children?? What is there to do with them there?? I know about the Ripley's aquarium and other Ripley's places. Beyond that I am stuck?? Any help or suggestions are appreciated!

What can I do next?

let them crawl over the rocks at The Chimneys...we loved that part of the park!

& yes to the Ripleys, but the aquarium would be the best choice.

what about heading up to Dollywood in Pigeon Forge?

& honestly, 8 days is a lot to fill with 2 little ones....older kids, teens, adults - yes! Little ones....that's a challenge!

Dixie Stampede.... but good luck, we took our daughters ages 2 and 5 down for 3 days at valentines day and since it was an off season, other than the ripleys, most things were closed. heck, all the restaurants were closed around 8, and most of the mini golf, arcades, ect..... anything that we wanted to do with the girls was closed...... so i would recomend checking into what i was gonna do b4 i went....

dont get me wrong, its a wonderful place for kids in the summer and we love it.... it was just disapointing in this off season

I loved the Gatlinburg Sky Lift! My husband was a bit freaked out by how "antique" it felt and the wiggly little people on a very small bench.

My parents went on it on their honeymoon in 1964, and those pictures of them (taken at the same place they're taken now) are some of my very favorites in the whole world.

You could get a picnic lunch and go for a drive through Cades Cove and picnic while enjoying the beautiful mountains!
