We have a Weber charcoal grill that is great and about 8 yrs old.
We also use our gas grill a LOT. We have a Ducane and love it. We did pay around $1000 for it. It is about 3 yrs old, never any issues with it at all.
Good luck.
We bought a Charboil gas grill 5 years ago for roughly 500 bucks. Needless to say, it needs help, new grates, etc. New grates will run us about 120 bucks.
I'm thinking we should just buy a new grill. I told hubby we should just buy a Weber, but for a similar size grill, it will run us close to 2k.
We use our grill year round. It's a major part of our cooking. I'm OK with it costing us roughly 100 a year to have a gas grill. Question becomes, what is the life span of a Weber? Is it cost effective? Or are we better off buying something cheaper, knowing it will just be replaced every 5 or so years.
Suggestions ladies?
Hubby bought some replacement grates today. We're going to try to hold off for two more years.

You sound like us. We use our grill almost daily also.
We purchase what I consider lower priced grills and try to keep them in good shape. On your current grill, how is the structure itself? Is it burning through the bottom and thinning out or is it still pretty sturdy? Usually the bottoms of our burn through so replacing all of the grates defeats the purpose..
The Webers are good and will last many years, but because of the amount of grilling you do the fact that your last grill lasted 5 years is really good.
Find out the warranties.
Here is a review of grills.

Our Weber lasted about ten years and if we ever did maintenace on it, I am sure it would have lasted even longer. It too was used all year round, but was never covered and never had its burners cleaned etc.
That being said, it might pay to Google "Weber Grill review" to see what they say about the new ones. I know products today may not be built to the same standard they were 10 years ago.
Buy a Napoloeon, they're worth it. The grates are ceramic and dishwasher safe, it's super easy to clean and maintain. Plus, 10 year warranty!
We had a natural gas line run so we could forgo propane and the grill is ready whenever we are. GL!
