Container store but they can be expensive. I think I got the wider ones and it cuts of space. I wish they had like t6 ince shelves for small stuff Ginge W
We are looking for some shelves to hang up on the wall of the garage to hold all kinds of stuff and somewhat organize our garage a bit. My husband wants metal ones that will hold up (the unit we had on the wall from the old owners just fell off the wall and we saw how flimsy they were now...) I know I have seen ads for companies that do shelving units/garage organization in the mail but have always tossed them b/c didn't need any of them. Now that we have been looking, I haven't seen any. Does anyone know any place that sells them and/or companies that do them? Thanks

The Container Store. My husband used to work there & they have some great stuff. They will work with you to figure out your needs. They can be a little pricey, but is very good quality. Good luck with your search.
I purchased mine at the hardware store. They are pretty flimsy, but that is probably due to my buying the cheapest ones. They are metal, but certainly not high school locker metal. They sit on the floor and you can bolt them into the wall at each shelf. We shove all kinds of things on them and they have been there for years. I don't think they are going anywhere.
Be sure to check freecycle and Craig's List. You can find stuff like that there. Also, Costco might have them (or Sam's). What about Sear's, Home Depot, Lowe's? You can look online before you drive around town trying to find them.
There's a garage arranging place in Southlake next to Christina's on 1709, not sure what they charge etc, but there is such a place nearby! Home Depot & Lowe's both have a decent selection of shelving units etc. You might also want to try Stacks and Stacks online and of course The Container Store has great stuff and they'll design something for you. Their Elfa sale is in January and it's usually 30% off then. My husband build ours out of heavy duty plywood and 2 x 6's. The shelves are hung from the ceiling and strong enough that he can hang from them at 200 + lbs with stuff on them. I can send you pics in a PM if you want to see them. (He loves weekend projects like this & helped a friend build some for his garage too).
We have fantastic shelves we bought at Costco. They are not wall-mounted though, but I find a couple of advantages to the floor kind - you can move them wherever you like if you decide you want a different arrangement and you can adjust the height of the shelves as well. With these shelves you can also attach a shelf between the ends of two different sets ) (the holes where they attach are on the inside and outside of the end posts so you can attach the shelves on either side, andtherefore between sets. We built 2 sets, took a shelf from each set which we attached between them instead, and in essence wound up with three connected sets with taller shelves rather than two with shorter shelves.) The shelves are very strong, holding up to 2000 pounds, and cost about $150 for a set. They are longer than the average sets as well, giving you wider openings to hold longer items. We bought 2 sets and set them up in the garage, and loved them so much that we went back for 2 more. They now line all walls of our garage and we have a garage floor again for the first time in over a decade! We don't have a usable attic, so these shelves have been a life saver!!!
I've installed an Elfa system from The Container Store in my garage. To increase the strength, I've cut the hanging track so that the screw holes lines up with studs whereever possible, and my hanging rods are spaced 1' apart. Comparable systems are available Home Depot and Lowes for a cheaper price, but I don't think they're as versatile. .
We got ours from Home Depot. Very sturdy and you can do all kinds of combinations. We really like ours.
