Congratulations on your new little one that is on the way. My second just turned a year old and it has been so great!
I get so much of my kids stuff super cheap, that I can give you a few ideas of places to look. There is so much used kids stuff in great condition out there that I hardly buy anything new or full price anymore.
ONe, my neighborhood is having a garage sale May 3rd. I don't know what baby stuff you'll find, but you can come look around. GArage sales are one of the cheapest places to find baby/kid stuff, but you have to go to a lot of them to find what all you want or need.
YOu can try the super Goodwill stores here in Arlington. I believe that the third Friday and the following Monday every month, they have half price days (it may be only certain hours, I can't remember).
www.cragslist.com is a good place to look. I've found lots and lots of stuff on there.
There is also www.freecycle.com. It is an awesome website where you can give away and get usable items to help reduce consumption of goods and keep stuff out of landfills.
Finally, my favorite place to get kids stuff is at the Just Between Friends consignment sales. I have participated as a shopper and a consignor in both the Arlington and FT. Worth sales. I prefer the Ft. Worth, especially as a consignor. The sales are twice a year in the spring and fall. The spring sales have already passed, but the Ft. Worth fall sale is set for next Sept. They have a website so you can check it out. They have TONS of every baby and kid item out there, especially at the FT. Worth sale. There are other consignment sales in the metroplex, I know, but I'm not really familiar with them.
If you'd like directions to my neighborhood for the garage sale, send me an email and I'll send them to you. Good Luck!
