Hi,
Garland is that way too now, so I just put big signs on my trees out front and maybe a big box/sign in my own yard.
Good Luck.............
I live in Plano and we have pretty specific rules for advertising for garage sales. I am having on this weekend. We are prohibited from putting signs in the median of streets or on street corners. Does anyone have any good ideas for advertising?

If you have a HOA, you can ask themto send an email out. Can you put it up at your library? Grocery store? Put a sign on your car for the next several days? Flyers on cars in your neighborhood.
Hope this helps and good luck!!

I know the perfect site and you don't even have to leave your home!
http://craigslist.com
They have a garage sale link you can post under and make sure you put some specifics on what you are selling!
Post daily until your garage sale is finished to get as much advertisement out there.
Good luck and hope you sell big!

My mom lives in Plano and she wrote her "sign" on the back window of her car and then parked her car on the major street near her house. It worked great and it doesn't break any rules.
I would ditto Craig's list...I had several people attend my garage sale who saw it there. But put on your ad the times/days...and be specific with what you're selling. If you don't want early bird (people coming before you open - early that morning) -- than specify that.
You might still have early birds though. There are some serious garage sale shoppers out there.
I agree with Craiglist too! We had a huge garage sale in early May in Mesquite at my aunts house, and I put an ad on there. I made $600 on my own.
