Games for Couples

Any suggestions for indoor games for older couples? My ex-colleague asked M. for ideas but she is a grandmom and all her friends are 40 + years old. So I have no clue what kind of games they would enjoy. She is having a party at home soon and she said she wants to plan something simple n easy. Any ideas?

What can I do next?

I'm a board games person, and a lot of the board games now are fun now matter how old you are. Apples to Apples is great, as is Cranium. There are a ton of different ones out there that have really fun ideas to them. Good luck!

We play card games like Uker, Sheephead or cribbage. We also play for money. Wow I feel old...I played those games as a kid that are suggested below.

depending on her age (myself and my inlaws are all in the 50+ age range) our favorite game is called Times to remember. you can probably get it on ebay. we play it in teams sometimes girls against guys and sometimes in couples. but it is a lot of fun and an age range is a good thing

Telestrations. It's a mix of pictionary and telephone. I have seen other games with the same idea. I second Apples to Apples.

I love playing Pictonary or similar games. Also, when my inlaws come here or when we visit my parents we always have a card game going.

Yikes, I am still reeling from your description of "older couples"... 40+.

Since I fall into that category I can suggest games we enjoy. LOL!

Games you can buy: Moods, Trivial Pursuit, Bananagrams

Charades is always fun too. We usually play men against women.

Another fun thing to do at a party is have 3 different games going on in 3 different rooms, then rotate.

For group/party games,
Apples To Apples
Great Dalmuti,
Wizard,
Phase 10 (a little slow at times)
Boggle,
Fluxx,
Bananagrams (not sure how many people can play at a time).

For a smaller setting, I like Transamerica because it's easy to learn for all different types of people. I also like Settlers of Catan, but that's a bit more involved.

If you want to browse, you could check out www.funagain.com. It has more than the mainstream type of games so it may be a bit overwhelming, but they do have categories you can browse.

Really, any board game is fun to play with a group of friends. When we get together, we usually end up with Apples to Apples or Pictionary

newlywed game or family feud or jeopardy
My parents like to play monopoly and apples to apples also.
Seriously just any board game like sorry, uno, monopoly, life, etc and if you want modify the rules to make it grown up more (like they have to kiss when they get a sorry card or something)
