Gameing Systems

I know that there have been quite a few questions on here about which gameing system is the best, but I haven't seen very many on the ps3 move system. My husband and I are having a disagreement on which one to get our ten year old son. I think that the xbox 360 kinect is the way to go but hubby says that the ps3 move is better...is there really that much of a difference? I have researched information on the xbox but not too much on the ps3 move. If any of you have either of these two systems, I would appreciate any feedback you could give me, good or bad. Thank you so much for your time. :)

What can I do next?

15yo son has the XBox 360...& he loves the updates which were just released this week. He's having a blast with it. He's thinkin' on the Kinect for Christmas. & each year for his BD, we buy the Live for him. Runs about $60.

24yo son has the PS3....& he loves it. He rarely uses the Move, but has enjoyed it when in use. He loves all of the perks which come with the system, & did his best to talk his brother into choosing it over the XBox.

Sooo, I have wondered how much of this difference in opinion is based on age....

We have both. We have had EVERY Nintendo, playstation and XBOX console ever offered....our favorite, hands down is the XBOX 360! It is great, easy controlls, great game selection, quick repairs (they have broken but knock on some wood ALWAYS within the first year, they pay for you to ship it to them and fix it and ship it back, easy as pie) and as a bonus it is THE easiest Netflix streaming sign up/hook up EVER!

The PS3 is nice b/c it doubles as a BlueRay but other than that?? The PSP were REALLY cool handhelds too!

~I feel compelled to add, just to be fair....but I HATE the Wii! The controllers are too shaky or I am too shaky and I think it sucks!

I have a hubby and son who are MAJOR gamers. We have the xbox 360 kinect and it's a lot of fun for sure. And a pretty good game system. We don't have any complaints with it.

HOWEVER, PS3 are THE best systems out there. They also happen to show that in their price and the price of their games. Which is pretty much the only reason we don't have that along with the xbox and wii. It's geared much more toward the heavy duty gamer than the other two are for sure so the graphics and all are WAY WAY WAY better. It also has never had the issues the xbox (aka microsoft) has had with hacker issues (that I know of, if they have I haven't heard about it).

Wii and Xbox are much more family oriented, with the Wii being THE most family oriented games wise. But all are good systems. Just depends on how much you really want to spend and what all you're going to be playing.

Good luck with your decision :)

We have 2 XBox 360s! We have the Kinect for the XBox 360 in the family room. We also have the Wii. We ADORE the Kinect and so do our kids! To me, the best part of the Kinect is that there is NO CONTROLLER. The Move still requires that you use a controller, a lot like the Wii does. With the Kinect, it is ALL your body and your voice......that's it! It's pretty amazing. We love it! Good luck with your decision!

we have both xbox and ps3. I'm not sure if they are all ps3 move, or what, because I have never heard of the ps3 move. Maybe I'm out of touch. Anyway, I'd go with the ps3. It has built in blu ray, can surf the internet, and if you have a smart tv it can surf on your tv too!! Plus play all the games. Oh, and the kids say it has some games built in, and they can play with virtual friends, like xbox live. But it is built in into the ps3. So it is way ahead of its time!! And you have to pay extra to play xbox live and get all the equipment to play. its all built into the ps3.

It depends on the types of games your son wants to play. The graphics and quality vary between systems depending on the types of games. Also, different types of games are available on different systems. My teenage son likes the PS3 because he plays sports games (Madden, NHL, MLB the Show, etc.) His friends who play COD and other military games prefer the XBox. Our 12-year-old who still plays family type games loves the Wii. Go somewhere you can get customer service and ask for help depending on the types of games you want. Find out from your son what he is interested in playing (and what you are interested in letting him play).

LOVE our kinect! My 4 year old has a great time with it and when I wasn't pregnant I did too. :-P It is a way to get the whole family active.

It takes pictures in some games and you get to see how goofy you look playing.... I was looking through the album one morning and my husband had been playing at night after the rest of the house was in bed.... So hilarious! :)

Don't know much about the ps3 move. Hadn't heard of it.

PS3 just doesn't have enough games my kids would like. Up until you posted I hadn't heard of the move part.

Our Xbox just blows the Wii away. I can't imagine what could be better. Maybe your husband wants a daddy system that the kids could play.

Really I would say look at the games available. It doesn't matter how good the system is if there is nothing to play on it, ya know?

I am not an Xbox fan, and I have a Wii and PS3 move, but the idea of no controller does get me .. just not enough to buy an Xbox.
