I am not 100% certain, but I believe the Unity Church on Forest between Preston and Hillcrest has a day care. May be worth a shot. Also, if you know of other families expecting in your area, maybe you can talk about nanny sharing.
I am going to have a baby in October and plan on going back to work full time in Jan 2011. I can't seem to find full time infant care anywhere in the Preston & Royal area. I work in Richardson and my husband works downtown. I want somewhere close to home so that in case of an emergency, either of us can quickly respond without a long drive. Any suggestions?
I'm a first time mom & I'm kind of freaking out that I can't find anything in our area.

I know of a wonderful lady who watches infants to toddlers up to 3 years old. She watches the children in her Preston Hollow home (Hillcrest and Walnut Hill). She is fabulous and loves children. She watches my 20 month old son and he absolutely adores her. I had my son in a daycare before and it was bad. I am so grateful to have found Erla. I can't say enough good things about her and I know she has other references that love her as much as I do. I will message you with her phone number.
I don't know how close the M streets are to Preston Hollow but I've heard really good things about Nido Montessori on Marquita Ave. in Dallas. The owner has her entire downstairs of her home turned into a baby-friendly, baby-sized montessori area. She takes babies either 6 - 24 months or birth - 24 months, I can't remember. Her name is Lili Panko and she's great.
This is not close to home, but close to where you work maybe. Concordia Learning Center is at Jupiter & Collins. It is in the city of Garland, but is at the border between Richardson and Garland. They are great, our son has been there since he was 4 months old and just turned 2. Here is a link.
