Fuel Efficient Family Vehicle

I'm in the market for a fuel efficient vehicle with 3 rows. I have 4 kids and babysit a couple so the 3rd row is a must.
We have a conversion van (LOVE) but it's not so great on the wallet for everyday driving. I just need room behind the 3rd row to hold grocery bags since we won't do much more than driving around town and hauling kiddos!
Do you have a vehicle you love and what is the gas milage like?
EDIT
I've done my research and have a list of vehicles we like, BUT I want to know if anyone has one, do they like it and recommend it and what gas milage you get. Car companies can tell you what your car is rated for gas milage, but if it's real is a different story.

What can I do next?

I just got the Audii Q7 with clean deisal in May. I love it. Great on gas mileage...but the closest gas station doesn't always have the diesal fuel so I have to be prepared.

I don't have this car, but a friend test drove it. Kia Rondo, has 7 seats & is small with low gas mileage. Mazda 5, only has 6 seats.

If you find a fuel efficient vehicle big enough for a 3rd row, let me know, because I'm not sure they exist....

I had a Mazda 5, but I didn't really like it as much. It says it's a 6 passenger vehicle but I found the back row really hard to fit 2 adults or a baby carrier. I have two kids and babysat and it was really difficult to get us all in and impossible if I needed to carry the stroller or buy groceries. Most of the time if it was just my family I had the 3rd row folded down so I could carry stuff. I also thought it had a pretty bad blind spot in the back. As far as gas, it was okay. About 300 miles to the tank. It has a smaller gas tank then other vehicles I thought. On a positive note, I drove this car across country (mountains, hills, snow, rain, you name it) and it drove really really well.

I hope this helps.
