My 4year olds front silver tooth crown has fallen off. There is a sliver of a tooth left but looks like it could break at any given moment. I have got the crown and don't know when I'm gonna be able to get her to the dentist what do I do?

What can I do next?

Health and safety are 2 things which should not be compromised.

Why on earth have you not already taken her to a dentist? You "don't when you will be able to get her to a dentist"? Why you would not be able to get her to a dentist. If she fell and broke her arm you would take her to the Dr, right? This is just as important mom.

If you don't get this resolved quickly, she could develop an infection which will end up costing woefully more money than a dental visit to clean the tooth and replace the crown.

If you can't or won't get her to the Dr., then get someone who will to take her. This is considered an immediate situation and most dental places will work with you because they know the importance of getting that crown back on asap.

Get her to a dentist today.... even if it is a dentist in a chain dental clinic... you daughter needs to see the dentist, now.

I'll bet that tooth is sensitive. The dentist should be able to work in a quick repair right away. They usually leave a little time in the schedule for emergencies.

You need to go as soon as possible. If you can't take her, do you have a friend or relative who could? Why would you risk the pain that child could be going through because of a missing crown?

Get kiddo to the dentist as soon as possible. He could get food up and inside the tooth area and it could become infected.

Infections inside the gums can get into the blood stream quickly and go to the brain and even as far as the heart. Causing tissue damage and even death.

The dentist will need to clean the tooth area very well then reattach the crown or make another. They could also just choose to pull the tooth which is a much less expensive option.

I agree with the others urging you to get her to the dentist ASAP. Because of her age and the fact the crown is on a front tooth, I would consider having the dentist pull the tooth instead of replacing the crown. At 4 years old, kids are starting to lose teeth anyway so the gap won't look unusual.

Call your dentist and tell them what has happened. I can understand the not knowing when you can get to the dentist. Our dentist is so busy that if it isn't an emergency it can take 2-3 months to get an appointment! But I think this would be considered an emergency and they should be able to get you in sooner rather than later.

I've had a crown on my front tooth since 1st grade. It fell off a couple of times and I can still remember how bad it hurt to have even the air hitting the exposed nerve. Insist on the dentist getting you in soon.

Get to the dentist ASAP, leaving it uncovered can cause more damage to the tooth and/or cavities. If the second cover comes off your child will be in excruciating pain.

I urge you to go to the dentist right away. By not going you are risking permanent damage. As you said, the stub could break off which could leave a ppermanent hole where ac tooth should be.

Why can't you take her to the dentist? If it's lack of money, go to a dental school or county clinic. All they will need to do is fasten the crown back on. It will not be expensive.

Also consider your daughter's appearance. She will be teased. I would think you would be concerned about how she feels.
