Front Load Washer Problem

Has anyone had a problem with their front load washer? I can go through a whole wash cycle just fine, until its on the final spin and once it hits the really fast spin I hear this awful noise. The machine isnt shaking, the loads are not unbalanced. We took apart what we could and the inside looks brand new. I was just wondering if anyone had the same problem and if they know what it is.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I went online with my model number and can't find any hits on the problem I am having. We called around and was told the model number won't do any good because every two years they change them...uhhh...okay, that's kinda dumb...so a tech should be calling us in a day with verbal help and also letting us know what washer will be compatible with my dryer, just in case it's to much to fix.

Mine doesn't do that. It likes to quit midcycle and claim it has a problem. We have to unplug it for at least 10 minutes to allow it to get over itself.

Mine did that last year. At first it was just a bit noisy during the final spin. We checked things and couldn't see anything alarming. The filter was full of gunk, but we expected that. Some models have filters that are easy to get to and some require taking apart the machine to get to the filter. Ours is the later version. After about two weeks of noisy washing it stopped emptying. Fortunately, we realized ours was still under warranty for one more week, so we got it repaired. It was the pump for the filter that went out.

Ours was making noise... come to find out one of the kids has a small toy in their pocket that got stuck in the drum. Once the toy made it out it stopped making noise. Our are about 5 1/2 yrs old... we did just have to have the dryer fixed - that cost us @ $350, but to replace it was tons more.

I second Mommy B, google your type of washer and the problem. You would not believe how much information you can get that way.

My front loader doesn't behave like that either, it will be five years old this December. Mine is a Samsung.

I have a whirlpool duet ( 5 years old now ) and no problem with it and you can hear it go into the spin but even then it isn't earth shaking. Can you call the store where you got it and see what they'd recommend or google it like suggested. That will drive you crazy.

My girlfriend's front load washer does this...if we are having coffee sitting in her kitchen and she closes the door to the laundry room (off the kitchen)...you can still hear it and the floor shakes.

They had it looked at and it is a bearing that will cost an un-Godly amount to replace...but basically will not hurt anything, just makes a horrible noise....so they are living with the noise over the like $800 plus dollars to fix it.

Hope that isn't your issue...

You can call a repair place and describe the situation. They can give you some idea over the phone.

Can't help you figure out the noise:( Just wanted to sat that this does not happen with our front-loader. We have an LG that is about 3-4 years old. Have you tried looking online to see if anybody else has had that problem with the type/model/year that you have? That might be a good start.
