I just made some chocolate dipped rice crispy "legos" and lego figurines out of wilton melting chocolate for my son's bday tomorrow. They have set already but do I store them in the fridge or on the counter? I will cry if they get ruined after all the work lol

What can I do next?

If they have marshmallow in them to hold the rice krispies together, I don't think they're supposed to be refrigerated. I tried it one time with the regular R.K. bars and they never did soften up after that.

Everything I've read about chocolate says to store in a cool dry place. To me the refridgerator is not a dry place. And water (read condensation) does not play well with chocolate.

I would think Wilton melting chocolate (the little disks right?) are the same as Merkens melting chocolate and it is safe to leave them on the counter (in an air tight container).

I make several hundred to several thousand truffles every year (for gifts and such). I freeze them on cookie sheets, and then dump them into ziplock bags and store them in the freezer. They take about half an hour to an hour to come to room temp once gotten out of the freezer. They easily last for months, just as delicious and 'perfect' as when they went in, even though they're kicking around. And these are 'delicate' creations with gold dust, espresso bean, mint leaves, etc. As long as they're frozen before being put in a bag all together, they come out of the bag just as they went in.

The fridge, however, can make chocolate "sweat". And countertops they can melt. Freezer. Hands down.
