Fresno Chaffee Zoo

We have had a family membership for the past 3 years. We like to take our 7 year old daughter and 19 month old son at least every other month or so. I was born in San Diego and lived there until I was 9. We use to go to the SD zoo all the time. Last time we went to the SD zoo, my daughter was 3. I was very disappointed. As a kid, you always remember things differently I guess. The nice thing about the zoo membership is that you get free and discounted admission to zoos across the country. We have used it to get into the Portland Zoo, Charles Paddock Zoo, Santa Ana Zoo, Oakland Zoo, just to name a few. I would definitely give the Chaffee Zoo another chance! Have fun!

I grew up in Visalia and went to the zoo as a kid. Last year while visiting family, I took my niece (age 3) and son (age 1). We had a great time! The zoo is really nice and is kept in great condition. It seems like they have added new exhibits and improved on a lot of the old ones that I remembered. I especially liked the rainforest area (can't remember the exact name for it) which is a big area that's enclosed with nets where birds fly free and there is a waterfall and walking paths. Of course, the zoos and parks in San Diego are much nicer and on a larger scale but for a day out that's local, I think the Fresno Zoo is definitely worth checking out. I'm sure they have website that would give more details about what animals they have, etc.

The zoo is great. I take my kids there probably once a month. Very safe and well kept up. They have a lot of cool events there too.

We went for the 4th of july last year and it was soooo much fun! We had the best time! They had great animals, it was a very clean zoo and there was a ton of things to do. I think you should go for sure!
