We enjoyed it and also got the 5 person membership. Great deal because my kids can take different friends each time. If you are thinking of going, you might want to do it soon because I heard the museum district will begin charging for parking soon to pay for the new parking garage.

Here is a story about a recent experience that a friend of mine had. She wrote about it here: http://www.burbmom.net/science-fun/

I am going later this week. Everyone that has been says that it is much improved and a great place to hang out with the kids.

A friend and I went last week, we had a 16 month old and two four year olds. We had such a good time, we both bought memberships (it was $24 for admittance and $65 for a two person membership, and they let us pay for the museum visit to see what we thought and then credited our $24 towards our membership). After 4 hours, we still didn't see all the exhibits, because the kids were having so much fun with all the hands on stuff. And the children's museum area even had a place for my toddler to play. We did not do the planetarium or Imax. The membership gets you free admittance to the planetarium, so we will do that on another visit. It was a very pleasant play date and we are thinking about going back next week.

I have a slightly different answer..if you have kids, especially younger ones it is excellent! Lots of interesting hands-on activities...much more interesting than the walk around and read little cards type of museum it was before..the story-telling lady was really neat..the make-believe area for very young children with the grocery store and ambulance were super popular. However, if you have older children..teens and such..it is mostly too young for them and it is hard to get chances to do some of the activities because it is so crowded. All the interesting medical stuff and most of the dinosaur stuff is gone..if you really liked the exhibits that were in there before you will be disappointed because it is all gone. I know that when I told several people that, like me, had grown up going to that museum, they were upset and disappointed to hear of the exhibits that were no longer there.

We got a membership the first time we were there. We got the basic 5 which can be used by anyone, as long as one of the adults that signed for the membership is there. So I can go with my two kids and take a friend and her son, or me and 4 kids... any combination! The place is great! And with the membership you get good discounts on food, store, IMAX, among other things. We have been there about 6 times already and my kids (3 and 5) loved every time!

We love it enough that we became members so we can go anytime. I have a nearly 7 year old and a nearly 4 year old. There are so many different fun things that are hands on for the kids to do. The dinosaur dig is great, the outdoor water play are will be great during the summer, there are all kinds of experiments they can do, and many vary from week to week... We really enjoy it!

It's awesome! The basic-5 membership is a great value. School groups are just now starting to go so that's the only downside I see. If you don't have afternoon nappers and you want to go during the week, I'd recommend going around 1pm to avoid the crowds of school kids.

YES and it is absolutely wonderful. I have a 20 month old and he loved it.
There is something for kids of all ages and I enjoyed it too. My friend and I packed food for the kids and we ate in the cafe and the food wasn't too good.
We are planning on going back this week if the weather permits.
