Hi, just wondering at what point your infant went from 4 bottles to 3? My child is taking 4 bottles on some days, but has recently gone down to 3. Does anyone know about how many calories a child needs at around one year old?

My understanding is you switch to milk at 1 year and they suggest no more than 24 oz.a day. My son loved his bottle but eventually he just dropped the before bed bottle (wouldn't take it) on his own. Maybe try some water or juice as one bottle during the day to see if he's thirsty? Good luck!

A decrease in the formula consumption is to be expected, assuming she is now eating a good bit of solids.

At 1 years old my daughter was drinking an 8 ounce bottle of whole milk and then about 2 (4 ounce bottles of milk throughout the day). So around 16 ounces of whole milk. Right before she turned one she was drinking 3 (8 ounce) bottles a day of formula.

Hi there,
My daughter just turned 1. We have her on whole milk now, cold. I give it to her with meals and then I'll let her take what she wants before naps and bedtime, which isn't much. Altogether, she probably takes no more than 2 1/2 8 oz bottles all day, but she's a great eater. I agree with offering water, too, at this point. Also, it's recommended to get them off the bottle around 1 year for dental and other reasons. I'm currently in the process of switching my daughter to a straw cup. You can do the sippy cup thing, too, but I think there are dental problems with getting stuck on those, too. But, personal preference or whatever your baby will take I'm sure would be fine. It's just definitely time to drop the bottle....so good luck to us both! Anyway, it sounds like your baby is getting plenty of fluid. Congrats on making it to 1 year. Isn't it such a fun age? I just love it! Being a mom is the best! God bless.
