Ford Flex

Hi, just wondering if anyone is able to get 3 car seats across the back seat of a Ford Flex? A convertable carseat, booster, and infant carrier. I have been flirting with having a 3rd baby and trying to think the car situation out. I do have a third row but the problem is trying to access it (second row seat will not fold down with a carseat strapped on). Thanks!

What can I do next?

I have 2 children and I LOVE MY FLEX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would most certainly put the oldest in the 3rd row and the baby behind me if I had a third. I despise vans so I needed something else. I went with captain's seat because I wanted my other passengers to get back in the back without moving the car seats. It's worked great for me - I have a 6month old and a 5year old. Good luck.

Flex also has the option for 2 captain seats in the 2nd row. Son & DIL have one with that configuration, they have 4 kids, 3 car seats and love their Flex.

I would say put the booster in the 3rd row.

I LOVE the Flex! I wish I could afford one. I have no car payment, but hubby has a $400/mo truck payment!

What you do is take what you're going to be using to the dealership and try it out :)

I have a Ford Freestyle, which I've been told is about the same as the Flex on the inside. I always thought that three across the backseat would be too crowded so we never tried it. That, and getting the kid in the middle would be a pain too. So what I would do is put the infant carrier on the driver's side backseat, the convertible carseat in the third row and the booster in the backseat passenger side. Since the booster doesn't need to be strapped down, you can just remove the booster or push it to the middle seat to fold down the second row seat to access the third row, and then you can move it back once you get the little one set. It's not ideal, but then, it's better than buying a new car, right? :)
Good luck!

It depends on the seat in question. If you a flex borrow a seat and try it out. If you don't, then try it at the dealer like Erica suggested. The brands are a little different so that part will matter. I think that i could, but am only planning on using 2 with car seats leaving the single side of the car able to fold for the older ones to get in the back.

i have one (Flex) but only have two kids....I was thinking that if we have a 3rd, I'd put the older two in the third row, with the baby on the passenger side so I can fold down the larger split seat to help the older two in and out....I can fit an older child (11 year old, bigger boy) Actually, I fit myself in between the two car seats (at the time it was a convertable seat and an infant carrier)....not sure if that helps...let me know if you figure it out LOL Good Luck!

This is why I hate this type of seat configuration! It is not practical for children in car seats!

In this class of cars I like the Chevy Traverse and the GMC Acadia, both have the option for 7 seats, but with two captains chairs and then a bench in the rear, so no flipping up of the seat to access it! I only have 2 kids, but even then, you're always having to move their car seat around when you want to use the back seat. I've always loved ford, but they really failed for me with the Flex.

Hope you can try it out with a baby carrier and have it fit. If not, look into getting a different vehicle, you don't want to have to mess around with this all the time!

Best wishes!
