Hi Moms,

A few days ago, a single mom posted how exausted she is all of the time. Just today, I found out that it could be an iron issue. She might have too much iron (instead of not enough). The purpose of this post is to help this mom - if you see this, go to your doctor and have them do an iron panel bloodwork - you might have too much iron! Since this will get pulled if I don't ask a question, here is my question - did any of you know that too much iron can make you exausted?

I posted a similar question a few weeks ago and someone recommended iron. I realized I hadn't been taking any for a very long time, and I don't eat red meat. I got my Floradix Iron and herbs in the mail and started taking it 2 weeks ago and I'm like a new person. All my energy is back. For me I was lacking, but I know it's true too much iron can zap your energy too.

I asked sometime back about protein levels. Essentially, you get iron from protein, right? Maybe I'm wrong. After embarking on a low carb/high protein diet (lost 18 lbs to date) I would imagine my iron levels would be high too. I got absolutely EXAUSTED the first week of the diet...now, I have energy to burn. I would agree that the woman should go see the doctor...just my two cents on the matter....

Yes! And it can be very serious. My friend was diagnosed with this: http://www.hemochromatosis.org/
