Can you share with me any useful message board sites you've found for this condition? The one on BabyCenter is active, but moderated by someone who doesn't understand the condition (doesn't believe even that it's a brain disorder ... yikes). I'd really like to find a safe place full of knowledgeable people for support.

Thanks in advance for recommendations!

Thanks for the responses! I'm going to check out the leads. I appreciate them! Have friends with kids with ADHD to connect with, but still like having the message board option.

Is there anything through Additudes? There is one on Circle of Moms on facebook I think, I don't pay that much attention to it to know what the moderator situation is there. I have a good friend who I talk to on most days who gets it, and can celebrate the little things with me, and listen when things are not so good, and I do the same.

Don't particularly know of a message board for just that, but I usually talk with others like us on here or American Pregnancy Association.

Well it's a hook up in the central nervous system wherein you hear what is being said but cannot connect it to what it means. It's like faulty directions. Many types are outgrown but some continue on in other forms.
I come from a family of brilliant overachievers and most of us have the problem which manifests from nervous ticks and strange behavior to dyslexia.
I found art, through my father who taught me how to paint ,to be a great leveler of the nervousness and anxiety that accompanies any of the conditions with 3 or 4 letters. I had my two year old finger painting and playing with playdough as a way to get her over her fears and into full speech.
Best is movement. My children had dance classes as I did and gymnastics. For adult life I settled on yoga. My grandson took Tai Kwan Do which gave him self discipline. He started at 4 years of age.
Diet is known to be helpful. I'll send you a private message with the name of a couple in Florida who are specialized in this kind of therapy.
Roseville is so off the map for help.
If your child turns out to be Autistic the best place is the University of Oregon in Eugene which has families coming for successful training from all over the world.
