Provided they are not allergic to peanuts: My kids love peanut butter and banana sandwiches. We add raisins to it. Granted, bananas and raisins (and the bread) have sugar it's a more natural form that the body can process easily. Also try ants on a log: peanut butter in celery stix with little raisins on top. OR chips and salsa or guacamole. My boys also love to just have a cheese stick.

Hi, N. s. I used fresh fruits: snacks, blender treats, added to salads, yogurt and granola bowels, frozen fruit popcicles, cold or hot cereal with fruits. Fresh fruits on cakes and cookies.fresh carrots and celery covered with peanut butter, raisens and drizzled with dark chocolate or white chocolate.sesame bread sticks dipped in favorite yougurts.i hope i could help. May god bless you and your loved ones. I raised 1 girl and 2 boys. Now all adults and on their own. Remember god watches all and take care of all. We just have to hand it to him and follow him. Take care, L.

Hi N.,

I know how hard it is to have kids on a special diet! My son and daughter have ADHD (DD has mild autism) and I have found by removing wheat and dairy they are much, much better! When I look for a snack for them I try to remember the 10 and 10 rule. If you can get 10 grams of protein and less than 10 grams of sugar, it's a pretty good snack. They like bufflo jerky, trail mixes with lots of nuts, and fruit with peanut butter on the side. I've made protein smoothies for them with chocolate protein powder and low sugar chocolate almond milk. These things you can find at a local health food store.
In a regular store, hormel has started a new line of lunch meats without nitrites (bad preservative for sensative kids) and they have a carved chicken strip that is great for a busy mom to give a quick, yummy snack to her kids.
One other thing that helped was watching the amount of preservatives and artificial dyes. If my son has red dye #40, he's super hyper for hours!

Good luck!

S.

Hello N.,
Try Deceptively Delicious by Jessica Seinfeld or thesneakychef.com. I do understand your frustration.

Good luck,
