**** In regards to the poster above me, yes you can ask your ped, but very unlikely he will know anything about it. Other than to caution you......any kind of anything you take he will caution you about cause that's what drs. do, and they don't know anything about nursing. If you are concerned and don't believe all the good info on the web on nursing sites like Kellymom, call a lactation consultant.
You can drink as much as you want, the tea is actually very diluted form of several herbs that will help you with milk production...but drinking the tea itself...unless you are drinking huge amounts of it....isn't going to help much if that is why you are drinking it. Drinking lots of fluids does help, eating oatmeal, getting alot of rest, making sure your are nursing on demand (if this is a young baby). Taking a little nursing vacation where you just lay in bed and cuddle and nurse anytime she is interested will do the most for your production. There is also a tincture you can use, or you can take the herbs by pills. You have to take ALOT of it before it actually starts helping.
