Food 'rules' may say differently, but if it's never been thawed and refrozen I say it's still good....especially if it's in the original vaccum sealed packaging.
How long can u freeze meat before it goes bad? I have this ham in my freezer that has been there almost a year now. Is it still go or has it gone bad? Thx

Its bad.If it was me i wouldnt eat it..Most of the time you buy a ham from the store and freeze it its been frozen in shipping then unthawed at the store then refrozen by you..They say no longer than 6 months for meats.
Depending on several factors: From as little as a few weeks to up to several years.
Hams are USUALLY already in some form of preservation (smoked, cured, etc.) and can often still be good for 6mo - 1 year in a fridge as long as the vacuum seal is good (hams can also be hung in a humidity controlled environment for over a year). In a freezer, at a constant temp, well sealed a ham can be good pretty much indefinitely.
Whether or not your ham is still good... only defrosting will tell. If it's freezer burned, or slimy even after rinsing, dried out, or discolored... toss it. The seal wasn't good and the temp fluctuated too much (partial defrosting). If there's no burn, discoloration, and the "slime" (aka juices from cells that burst during freezing) rinses off and the ham is "ham like"... you're good to go.
I always thought meat was bad after 6 months also. Maybe you can call the company on the label?
I agree with the others on the 6 month rule but I have frozen food for longer and it was fine. I would thaw it and smell it before cooking it. if it smells bad dont use it and if it smells normal I would go a head and use it.
I would say it is still good, as long as you havent thawed it and refrozen it. We get a whole beef at a time, and some of it has beed in the deep freezer for over a year, and it is still good.
It should be fine. :)
Many meats can go up to a year or longer if they were frozen properly. I've used meat that was almost 2 years in the freezer (it was freshly butchered, wrapped, and frozen quickly). If the ham was smoked or cured, I'm sure it's still good.
I usually say about 3 months! www.weelicious.com
Depends on how well it was wrapped and how much other stinky stuff it was near. I would thaw it and try a little bit. Since it is ham, you don't have to cook it to taste it. I wouldn't plan on having it for a big party, tho, just in case!
