We've got family coming in for the weekend. We will be having a lunch on Friday and then going to a dinner on Friday nite with different family members. The one's who are coming for lunch on Friday have young kids and Friday night is mostly adults. I was thinking of making some potato soup for lunch with sandwiches or is there something else easier? I am bringing the food Friday night as I don't want my mother-in-law to have to fuss with making food for a crowd. Was thinking of maybe bringing in pizza??? Anything else you can think of that would be better would be appreciated.

What can I do next?

Lasagna, bread, salad

Spaghetti, salad, garlic brea

Beef stew for the adults, chicken nuggets for the kids
(You can pretty much add chicen nuggets to any meal you bring to ensure
the little kids will eat.)

If nothing else appeals, pizza is a great choice. I always add salad (nuggets for the kids just to be safe).

You can do a make your own deli sandwich bar. Serve w/pickles, chips &
potatoe salad.

Fried chicken, cole slaw, potato salad.

Brownie bites or homemade cookies for dessert.

If you're having pizza for dinner, why not go a little extra distance & do a lunch of baked pasta, lasagna, meatball sammies, sweet sausage Sammie's and a green salad?
All easy to do ahead or in a crockpot.

Anything in a crock pot! Chili? Sloppy Joes? Build your own Tacos?

Or HEY! Have you ever heard of "Walking Tacos"??? Cook up Taco meat and get the fixins and then buy a bunch of "individual size" bags of Fritos...the idea is everyone gets a bag of Fritos, and builds their own "taco" inside the bag of chips...dump in meat, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, cheese, whatever! and then you mix it up in the bag and eat it with a fork as you walk around and socialize! :-) We did it at a church event and it was SUPER fun!!

A neighbor went to a casual chain restaurant that advertised catering and ordered a large tray of burritos. I've been to another dinner where the hostess bought large trays of spaghetti and another of Ceasar salad from a restaurant. She made the garlic bread. You could pick the food up the day of the lunch and not have to be concerned about storage.
