Does anyone know the cheap places to get a flu shot? I see that Walmart and some pharmacies are offering them for $25. I was scared of the thymersol (sp?) in them and opted not to get them for our family last year. Well, the flu knocked us all out for almost 2 months. I am NOT prepared to go through that again with a child. There is nothing like having the flu at the same time as your infant.
Hi M., Not sure what county you're in check your local county's health board website they will usually post when and where they're available. Most pharmacy locations that offer the shots don't offer them for anyone under 18, I believe it has something to do with dosing.
Trinity Pharmacy in Carrollton offers both kinds and will even give them to infants and toddlers too, unlike most pharmacies. I am not sure what the cost is of the preservative free ones, but I know they offer them.
I have not heard that any flu shot was free of thimersol. But the flu mist is free of thimersol.
That aside if you have a prescription from you child's doctor they will do the shot at the pharmacy (we just called our dr. and they had the prescrip. at the front desk for us... no office fee.

At the beginning of the season, flu shots for adults are $25 and about $10 for children. But if you wait a little, after a while they stop charging people for the shots. Last year, we were vaccinated for free. By the way, their flu shots are thymerosal free.
