i think it's a good idea to get a flu shot for him. I have a 10 and 9 year old and when they were in daycare they always got sick. After they got a flu shot they didn't get sick as much.
I was wondering about the flu shot, should I get it for my 10 month old? she dosn't go to daycare and she's not really around alot of other sick kids, what do you guys think?

My pediatrician said that babies that age should get the shot. My daughter is 13 months old and I need to schedule her for the shot. The pediatrician said that babies that age are very susceptable to the flu.
I would...my daughter doesn't go to day care either, but if me or my husband get the flu, I still want to make sure she's covered. Also, if she's around our friends...I'm going to get it for her...and make sure we get one too! =)

I have a 10 month old son and my hubby is active duty AF too!
We are going to go get Axel's shot next week.... make sure if you get shots for your baby on base they don't have mercury in them. I was warned about that when we moved here. Thankfully our pediatrition is off base.
I am expecting my third next year. My first two have never had the flu shot and have been in preschool. They've also never gotten the flu. As babies they weren't in daycare and had good health. I don't feel there's any reason to give your child a live virus vaccine for the flu if you have a healthy child. Besides that, even if you give it, it's protecting the child from science's best guess as to what strain they'll be exposed to this year.
I feel the best immunity is breastfeeding anyway, for a child your son's age. Still, this is my non professional opinion!
