My son is one week from being 9 mo. I read up on the flu shot and it is recommended that children over 6 months get a flu shot. Has any one gotten a flu shot for their child, any complications?

What can I do next?

Sara I had a little girl whom was very sick at christmas time and I was also a stay at home mom and I was told by my ped doctor that if she was mainly at home that my husband and I and grandparents (anyone who would have a lot of contact with her should get one and she would be ok. the next year I got her one and she didn't have any problems but all children react differently so you just need to go with how you feel. I do know how ever that the flu is already going around and it is nasty. My son and my family has already got it thank goodness my daughter hasn't but beware its out already. I wish you the best in your decision.

My daughter got one last year at the age of 1. No complications and we had a pretty good winter. She will receive another this year.

Hi Sara... I have given the flu shot to both of my kids when they were infants (More or less at 6 months) There were no complications at all. In my opinion, it is worth it because you don't want to have a child with the flu... Good luck!

My daughter got her flu shot last Thursday (shes 2yrs old) and was ok at first it just made her sleepy but by the end of the day she was throwing up everytime she ate something other than a popisicle and had a low grade fever. Luckily it only lasted for 24hours.

Hair salon, there is a good one called Shear Connections (3105 San Pedro Dr Ne, Albuquerque, NM 87110) ###-###-#### ask for Dori.

I'm going to buck the trend here and tell you that my kids won't be getting the flu shot. My older son got his first shot and then developed an egg allergy shortly thereafter (flu shots are cultured in chicken eggs). My younger son is allergic to eggs as well. Neither has had the flu.
