I need suggestions. I am in the market for a flip video camera. What do you recommend? There are so many out there in the market, I just can't decide.

What can I do next?

OK, I used the FLIP for work - UGH hated it!! No voice input, no microphone jack, etc.
I did some research and spoke to some professional video guys and their recommendatin was the Kodak Zi8. it is 1080 p HD video and best thing, I bought it for less than $100 at Office max (I know, office max??).
The only drawback is you cannot use microsoft movie maker to edit the video, but I downloaded a free version of video pad and love video pad so much for the stuff I do at work, I downloaded it at home for personal videos too!
FYI - you have the option to put in an memory card and can record almost 2 hours of video on the Kodak.
I have a Cannon for personal use, but it is not a flip style, so I won't bore you with that description -LOL!

My sister has Flips.
Loves them.
The HD one eats batteries like no tomorrow.
The regular ones are much easier on the battery life.
YMMV

From what I understand, the Flips are being discontinued. I have one and the thing I think it's great for is kids. I can let my son (10 years old) play around with it and I don't have to worry. Most cameras have video built in so many people are using that. I think it really depends on your needs. If you have a little kid and are trying to capture special memories, I would look into a nicer digital video cam. If you just want something to carry around, the Flip is nice for that.

I have the Flip Ultra HD and I LOVE IT!! I can get video and then later get still frame pictures from the videos!! Also it fits anywhere cause it is so small...Another good feature is the usb flips out on the side (thats why its called a flip) U hook it up to your computer really quick get all the videos off and burn them on dvd!! I am a home movie fanatic (I have home movies of me from 5 on) so I want my son to have the same : ) Its very very convenient!! Hope this helps : )

** Definitely get rechargeable batteries

I had the Flip and loved it, that was until while next to a baggie filled with my sons cantelope, the juice of the cantelope leaked out of the bag and got some moisture on the Flip - it completely died!! Won't start, can't get any data off of it (had a bunch of videos on there that I had not transferred to computer yet).
So...I went out and got the Kodak Play and Sport, it's like the Flip, but only water proof AND it takes still pictures as well. We took that camera to the water park,. into the wave pool, into the lazy river and it worked beautifully!!
