Fixing a Mood Ring ... Yes, Mood Ring.

My 9 year old daughter took her JUST PURCHASED mood necklace into the pool. The color portion of it has faded. Only about 20% of the color remains. I just Googled if there was a way to fix it only to find no results. Anyone out there have any ideas? I realize we should probably be focusing on the Let's Take Care Of Our Things talk. And we definitely will. I just wondered if there was a fix out there that you folks knew about.

Thanks in advance

I don't think mood rings/jewelry are ever meant to be long term jewelry.
Even if you treat it with the utmost care, the color changing stuff wears out eventually.
Don't worry about it, or try to fix it, or replace it.
Your daughter will learn not to wear stuff like that in the pool.
She'll learn about consequences and she'll be more careful next time around (hopefully - it might take a few ruined things before it sinks in).

Water damage to mood rings is permanent.

Sorry...once a mood ring gets wet - it's hosed. I learned the hard way when I was 10 years old...I didn't know they still made them! HOW COOL!!

But sorry. No way to fix. It's done. Broke.

I know someone had said to put it in a freezer....but it didn't work for me. Once it got back to room temp - the water damage was still there.

I had an original mood ring and it said on the label not to get it wet. I am guessing that is still the same now. I doubt there is any way to fix it. You call a jeweler to see if they can fix it.

As far as I know, once they are wet, they are toast. Sorry.
