Just found out I'm about 5 weeks pregnant and noticed that the soles of my feet ache. Is this normal. My first doctor's appointment isn't for another 4 weeks. Please advise if any of you have had this happen.

Thank you =)

Congrats! You're starting to put on excess fluid and it can be in weird places. Sometimes it'll make things like your feet ache. Get some supportive shoes now, because it'll just get worse over time. Good luck! :)

Yes, I had the same experience. Like Shauna said, I was told it was due to hormones (such as relaxin) that are causing your ligaments to stretch. There wasn't anything that i was able to do to mitigate it, sorry! Good luck, and congratulations :-)

Hi M.,
Pregnancy does weird stuff. I was opposite the textbook carpel tunnel pain...you are supposed to only get that toward the end of pregnancy...but I got it at the start for two weeks...and then it went away not to return. Weird.
Maybe your body will stabilize whatever it's doing hormonally and the foot pain will go away. I also had terrible coxyx muscle pain come and leave as well. Good shoes would not be a bad bet though.

Hi,

I had the same thing happen to me from about 5 weeks-12 weeks. They would get so sore I could barely stand it. My Dr. chalked it up to hormones? You are the first person I've heard of who has ever had the same worry/complaint. Couldn't find any info on "sore feet in first tri" on the web? Sorry, I'm not much of a help... I guess it's just "par for the course". Of course pedicures helped but that was about it for me?!

Goodluck!
