Fitbit or the up by Jawbone?

I wanted to get one of these to help with workouts etc but can't find much on them. How snug should they fit for the best readout? I tried the plastic try-on thing on the back of box but it's not helpful. Once they are opened they are not returnable either. They are fairly expensive so I would hate to get wrong size. Also if you do own one, which one? Happy with it or wish you had the orher?

What can I do next?

I have an up24. I like it a lot, the app is very easy to use, info but not data overload. It should move on the wrist, not be too snug. I used the size guide on their website, it had me between the small & medium, I got the medium and it's comfortable. Mine did die after 3 weeks, but Best Buy took it back and exchanged it. If this one dies (not uncommon from what i read online) I'll get a fitbit flex or force.

My husband has the UP and loves it. I'm not sure about the fit though.

I can't speak for the UP. I have a fit bit. It came with a small band and a large band. I wear the small one on the loosest fitting. I can get 3 fingers under it and it reads fine. I use mine as a pedometer. You can log your calories, food, water, sleep and activities if you want. It doesn't do heart rate.

At least I don't wash this pedometer! And it remotely logs my steps to our insurance site that pays for so many steps a year.

I have a fitbit flex and I love it. It comes with 2 sizes of bands so you can pick which one fits better and adjust it. The smaller one fits me perfectly, and I hardly know it's there because it's so lightweight. I use mine as a pedometer mostly, but also weight, water intake, and sleep. I love getting weekly reports on how I've done.

Also, the best reading depends on if you wear it on your dominant hand or not. For the fitbit, you tell it which one you're wearing it on and it will adjust the sensitivity of the activity you're doing.

Personally I am boycotting the Fitbit company after their customer service failed me on two Ultras that we owned.

I just wanted to throw out there that Polar has a wrist activity monitor that is cut to fit. (Even if you cut it too small they will replace it one time for free.) It is called the Loop and it is waterproof as opposed to the Fitbit which is water resistant. It also comes with a TWO year warranty.

I looked at the UP when Best Buy had it on sale and the reviews were not very good.

Maybe look at the online reviews for the ones you are considering and see what others are saying.

My husband and several friends have the Fitbit Flex and love it. I did quite a bit of research before getting the Fitbit for my husband for his birthday, and the Fitbit was rated higheest on almost all of the reviews that I read. I was comparing 4 different products, and the UP was one of them. It came in a close second.
