Looking to find a fishing hole in the Spring area .. it can be at a park .. we've tried Meyer and Burroughs Park and am looking for some new suggestions. We've been using worms and would like to graduate to minnows, but haven't been able to find a bait shop locally. Fisher-moms, please help!

I don't fish - they are too wiggly and slimey and plus the rule is you have to touch them if you hook one and I can't handle that mentally - however, my husband is an avid fisherman and this is what he told me...

If you can venture a bit further out of Spring, we've dropped a line under the bridge in Northshore Park in the Woodlands. There is also WG Jones State Park off of FM1488,about 2 miles from I-45, but you'll need a park permit, which isn't a problem to get. WGJSP has a nice, shaded small pond/lake and picnic areas. Academy sells minnows and the only other place he knows of minnow selling shops is Circle S off of FM2978 near Carraway Dr/Rd/St in Magnolia.

Just curious, what other interesting outings have you done? I am the same but my son is only 3 so our outings are sort of limited. Well, have fun!

Some Walmart stores carry worms for fishing and fishing licenses in sporting goods.

Lake Houston on the Huffman side of the bridge then is a marina and a couple of docks. If you are unsure how to get to Lake Houston go down 1960 East. Or then is a Lake Houston State Park in New Caney and also Jesse Jones Park in the back of Kinswick and you can go and fish out of the Spring Creek River. Hope that helps have fun!!
