J.,
It just might be from your prenatal vitamins. Call & ask your OB/GYN. Congratulations!

I had a bad after taste with both pregnancies. It was awful. I dealt with it with mint gum and brushing as much as I could. It went away after I delivered. I wouldn't worry.

I would take your prenatal vitamins before going to bed. During the first trimester you are going to be nausea and things are going to smell wierd. Once you get to your second trimester things should be better. Each pregnancy is different and the body reacts differently each time. Good luck it will get better.

I had a metallic type of taste in my mouth, particularly with my first. It seemed to improve as the morning (all-day) sickness subsided, so I guess around 18 weeks or so for me. For what it's worth, I think I only had it slightly with my second and don't recall it at all with the 3rd, despite awful nausea with both. Pretty sure it's just a hormonal thing, but the vitamins could be contributing as well. A little seltzer with fresh lemon squeezed in it may help a little as well.

Dear J.,
Your hormones might still be changing. Your B-complex is really important and there's a lot of B-complex in whole grains, 100% whole grain bread. See if this works. Also, your sleep patterns should be good, but don't take B-complex before you go to sleep....it will probably keep you up. Ask your OB/GYN is this continues as this should not be ongoing.
