Hello
I think I asked you all about my situation a couple weeks ago. Well now it has been 4 weeks and my period still hasn't gone away. A little background.......I stopped nursing my second child 3 months ago. I took birth control up until November when my husband had a vasectomy. Started my period 4 weeks ago and it hasn't lightened up at all. I went to the doctor 10 days ago and they found a cyst on my ovaries and my liver enzymes were a bit out of wack. They said that the cyst should go away and they want to do another ultrasound in 6 weeks. They put me on a crazy birth control schedule that consists of taking 3 pills for 3 days, 2 pills for 3 days and then 1 pill for the remainder of the packet. They said that should stop the bleeding. I am almost done with the pills and it hasn't changed the bleeding one bit it just makes me sick to my stomach. I am very nervous and scared of what can be causing this. Has anyone gone through this or know of anyone that has. I would love to hear from you.

What can I do next?

I don't have any experience with what you're going through but I'm a big proponent of being proactive about your own health care. If the course of treatment isn't helping, then you should definitely go back to your doctor. You know your body best and if you're worried, it's your doctor's job to address your concerns and keep you informed. If you feel like your condition is being downplayed or dismissed then I would seek another doctor for a second opinion. Best wishes!

Hi, D. --
I'm A., I responded to your first post. (I'd gone through something similar on a smaller scale.)
I just wanted to let you know that I'm keeping you in my thoughts... this must be frightening and stressful, which is hardly what any mom needs!
I'm glad to hear that you're under a doctor's care. It sounds like he/she is on top of things, even if this might be tough to straighten out. With his/her help, I'm sure you'll be fine :)
Keep your chin up -- soon you'll be stressing over potty-training that beautiful daughter of yours and this will all be a distant memory!
Best to you and your family,
A.

I dont want to freak you out more than you are already. However in my family both my mom and sister went into menopause very early. They both had unstopping periods and ended up having full hystroectomies. My mom was I think 34 and my sister was 30.

I would mention this to the doctor just to check that there is nothing more serious going on.

You may be interested in some herbal formulas that help to balance the body's different systems - hormonal, nervous, digestive, etc. It's best for your body to balance itself naturally instead of attempting to force one issue or another using synthetic (and very dangerous) hormone supplements. If it were me I would not accept any further pharmaceutical prescriptions, and perhaps go to a different doctor if the one you see currently doesn't respect your concerns and help you. In the meantime, my suggestion would be to look into three formulas to help balance your body. First one is Lunazon. It supports hormonal balance, PMS relief and fertility as well as regulates mensus - it is also high in iron. And if you have been bleeding for this long you probably may be in danger of becoming anemic so extra iron will help. The second formula I suggest is Recovazon. It accelerates the body's ability to recover from injuries and illnesses. It aids in circulation, pain relief, and female hormonal balance. It also balances the endocrine system. The third formula is Sumacazon. It regulates the endocrine, immune, muscular/skeletal and digestive systems and supports the glands (especially thyroid). All these formulas contain wild grown Amazon rainforest herbs that are never irradiated, never had chemical fertilizers or pesticides applied, and are harvested by the indigenous people. I am a certified herbal specialist and rainforest ambassador. If you need any more information about these products you can contact me or you can visit my website: www.shootingstarherbs.amazonherb.net. Good luck!

I get ovarian cysts periodically. I use a product from Nature's Sunshine called NF-X. When I have a cyst, I take 2-3 capsules 4 times daily. I had it dissolve a cyst the size of a golf ball in under three weeks.

To prevent them, I use a prescription progesterone cream, NOT pills. When a woman takes progesterone pills, the progesterone gets altered by the liver before it goes into circulation, and isn't nearly as effective. With the cream it gets absorbed into the body and circulates before getting to the liver.
