We are going on our first trip up to CT where we grew up for the 4th of July weekend. My son will be 7 months old then and I am nervous about flying with him. Any tips??
I have a 22 month old and he took his first flight at 8 weeks and has been on about 10 since. The binky works like a charm. I also try to time it to where I am feeding him just as soon as we start to take off that way it dosen't bother his ears. Knock on wood we have had successful flights EVERY time!. Good Luck!
Wow that is going to be hard........if I were in your shoes I'd try lollipops. I'd go to Sam's and buy a big bag of lollipops and let the baby go to town, bring some wet-wipes.
But the bottles, pacifiers, and boob would work too. I don't know if your baby uses a bottle- if so maybe getting some of that baby juice (or get some Juicy Juice and mix 1/2 w/ water). If your little one nurses- that would help the both of you relax...........but the person seating next to you may get an eyeful............

Have a binky, bottle or boob for him when taking off and landing. It will help with the pressure in his ears. Other than that, just whatever you pack for a day out should do it. I once flew by myself when ds was 11 months and also had my 3 year old dd with me. It was much more work keeping her entertained because he slept the whole time.

My son flew the first time at 4 months old and let me tell ya - it's easier the younger they are (I think). I gave him tylonel before we took off and nursed him during take off. I flew alone so I made sure I got a window seat and just made sure I covered up - people understand. I had one guy tell me it's okay do what you have to do and he never looked. I used my boppy pillow too - if you can, use pillows to make him comfortable. I'd try to suckers too and if you don't nurse just give him a bottle. If you fly out early enough, you might get lucky and he'll fall asleep. Good Luck and have great trip!
