Ok moms, you all have been so helpful in the past and I am hoping you guys can give me some advice again....I have an 11 month that recently started eating finger food and I am running out of ideas for main meals for her to take to school. She eats the meat sticks, ravioli, fruits, and veggies...I am looking for things that she can take to daycare that don't require a lot of preparation. Any ideas??? Thanks!

What can I do next?

While I dont recommend these all the time, lunchables makes a jr. lunchable that would be perfect for those crazy days. The one we usually get has diced turkey, small cheese slices, and some mini crackers. They are the perfect size for toddlers! Other wise, I tend to buy Boars head lunch meats and shred/cut some small pieces, as well as some mozz. cheese. I like the mini ritz because they can be eaten in one bite:) Also, I agree that canned, no sugar added fruits can be great. My daughter also likes cucumber slices (no skin at that age) and diced apples (also no skin). Do they help feed them at daycare? Maybe you could send in yogurt or something too. Of course. cheerios can always be added..not just for breakfast either. The honey maid graham cracker bees are perfect for her age..again, pretty soft to chew and bite sized. And, the baby goldfish too. Will she eat those gerber yogurt bites? And finally, have you seen the newer mini pastas...I think barilla makes them? You could precook those and she could eat them with a little parm. cheese and some diced chicken. They dont care if it is hot..luke warm would be just fine for her:) You could use canned chicken if you want..it is already shredded. Maybe some cut up boiled eggs. OK, enough rambling..I hope some of these suggestions helped:) Take care ~A.~

My kids used to like the little cans of Vegall. Easy to open, no need to heat up and they are colorful and fun.

Hey M.~

My lil one is just 11 mos and right now he is eating pancakes, chicken nuggets, the Gerbers lil Entres that they can just pop in the microwave and warm for 30 seconds! They have all kinds. He likes those and most he can pick up and eat on his own. My son is very picky (he takes after me :)) so its hit or miss with stuff but I say if you do find stuff she likes stick with it! It wont hurt esp if she is getting fruits and veggies! Good luck!

My daughter is 12 months and only has 3 teeth. I don't know how many your daughter has but I have been dicing up ham, turkey, and chicken for my daughter to feed herself. She seems to really like meat (unlike me). I also feed her green beans, peas, pineapple pieces, and diced peaches. She seems to really like them and they are easy to pick up. I make my green beans from fresh green beans but you could use canned green beans if you want. I used canned peas since it is hard to find fresh peas right now. I just make sure to buy the "no salt added" kind. Pineapple the same thing, if I have time I start from a fresh pineapple but if not I buy canned. Dole has a "no sugar added" variety I buy for the diced peaches. You don't really have to heat up any of these and I just prepare the miniature Ziploc containers to divide out the portions for transport. Sometime I will also include a few Morning Sticks - Cinnamon Toast graham crackers from Honey Maid for a snack. Hope this helps.
