Finding a Good OB GYN!

I think it all depends on what type of OB your looking for...I've been told a good old fashion OB is Dr. Dovre'( in chico & paradise) alot of women I worked with swore by him. I was in the care of Dr. Sung Park (Paradise) w/ my 1st he was very new age w/ all the tech. I liked it and needed it to comfort me. I had an u/s just about every visit :). At the time his office was transitioning staff and I wasn't too impressed, but right before I was transferred down to Sac I was starting to feel more comfortable w/ him. I was referred to him by a bunch of gals in my office and they absolutely LOVED him...I don't know how he is w/ the delivery though since I ended delivery here in SAc!! Any other questions just ask

Hi L.. You are the first posting I've seen for the chico area! I don't have an ob as I haven't lived here long (I live in Corning.) But my friend who is pregnant right now loves her ob. His name is dr. Mazen. I believe that's how you spell it. Both her and her sister see him, and they both seem to love him.

I have a question for you, do you go to any moms groups or playgroups in the area? I've tried to find something for my 20 month old son and I to do, but there's not much around here! Thought I'd ask you while I had the chance!

He is further north in Redding but his name is Dr. Thomas Perry and he is wonderful, He is so good when I moved to Santa Rosa 8 years ago I traveled up there to see him while I was pregnant and pulled my travel trailer up there a month before I was due and had my son there. write me back if you would like to hear more of the reasons behind my decision. Dr. Mellum is the BEST! Very attentive and sensitive, and his office nurse is great, too. He delivers at Enloe, but not in Paradise.

I have heard good things about Dr. Valkerenghi is good, too (I am SURE I just butchered the man's name... but I don't think there is anyone close in name...)

If you are new to the area and need a pediatrician, we like Dr. Morcos-Gannon (for my 2 cents of unsolicited advice).

I had an absolutely wonderful experience with Dr. Shea and his staff in Red Bluff. They treat you well, and are they care about you and your growing baby. I loved how gentle they were as well. Hope this helped!!!
