Yes, you can still claim him and he'll do his own 1040ez.
My 17 year old son has a part-time job that he only works on weekends. I'm assuming he'll get to file the 1040EZ this year, but can we still claim him as a dependent?
Thanks to all who answered my question. I appreciate your speedy responses.

Yes you can still claim him. He will file a 1040EZ, just make sure he checks off that someone else claims him as a dependent - that is very important.
I would directly ask my accountant that question to make sure you don't mess up.
TurboTax is a program hubby has used for a long time and he loves it. It guides you through so many things and asks a lot of questions but I don't know the answer to your question.
When we have any doubt whatsoever, we ask our accountant. It is worth spending a little money with the accountant than taking a chance and being audited.
Being audited is not fun. It has happened to us 2 times. My hubby is a numbers man (accounting undergrad) and does things correctly. Ironically, the 2 times we were audited, he presented them with documentation and IRS ended up sending us a check!
Good luck!
Technically, at 17 he's a minor and most likely still living under your roof and eating food you provide and wearing clothes that you buy him. Yes, you can still claim him as a dependent (I was claimed on my parents until I graduated from college and moved out of the house). And, yes, he will most likely file a 1040EZ and will mark the box that shows he is claimed as a dependent on someone else's tax return (which he should have also done when he completed his W4 when he started working at his job). I'm not an accountant - this is what I did up until 5 years ago. Consult with your accountant if you have any questions or concerns.
