Has anyone experienced this? And, if so, what did you do to stop it or deal with it? Thanks!

What can I do next?

I was told I have FB about 3 years ago, but there was no pain associated with it as the time, just real lumpy. At the time however my breasts were still producing milk even tho I had stopped breast feeding for a long time. I would say about the begining of this year my breast stopped producing milk and I had excruciating pain in both breasts a full week before my period. I remember a time my son tackeled me and I cried because it hurt so bad. It is rather funny tho, I produced milk more than 2 years after I stopped breastfeeding my daughter.

S.,

Fibrocysts run in my family. My GYN suggested that I decrease my intake of caffine. Now, I'm not very good at following his directions. So I am not going to be able to provide input as to the success of this. But if you are drinking a great deal of caffine, it might be something to try.

Hi S.,
I was diagnosed with fibrocystic breasts over 30 years ago. Many many women have this and so it never caused me great concern. It has made breast exams a little harder at times, but if you do a self-exam every month you get to know your own breasts. It also can cause discomfort at different times of your cycle. It gets better as you age. I think there are a lot of theories about what you should avoid eating, etc... You could do a google and try something like that if you are having a lot of pain. Good Luck!

I have fibrocystic breasts and just make certain that I get a mammogram annually since they get so dense that I can't feel much when doing an exam myself. I see a breast specialist and he also has them do a sonogram since they can see around the cycst better and if a cyst looks suspicious in the mammogram, they can get a second look. My breasts grown in size in the last 2 years and it has been frustrating but I just live with it. During monthly hormonal fluctuations, I experience more pain than I used to but I always remind myself that it's going to be just for a few days.

I was also diagnosed with FB in January. I got my mammograms done and had a lot of tissue and several cysts that turned out to be ok. it was a huge relief to get those results, I looked in the internet and they say that diet changes can help to ease pain and discomfort. this is very common and of course is better to be alert and check your breasts every month but it's supposedly to diminish with age.
Good Luck!
