My baby is 6 months old and just got a Hepatitis B shot (this is the 3rd time) and she is having a fever (~38 celcius) for 3 days since. What should I do? Can I give her Triaminic™ Fever Reducer Pain Reliever Infants' Drops (this is what I got from my brother in USA)? and what's the dose, because the label says below 2 years old, check with doctors.

Today is Sunday our doctors are closed and of course we do not want our baby to get too much medicine.

Thanks for some of the answers, we did get this immunization because many friends and relatives also do the same for their children. The pharmacy here when I called do not know anything about the dose. We are in Indonesia. I suppose I found some guidelines for acetaminophen about 1.6ml for 24lbs, my daughter is about 13lbs so I am going to give about 0.8ml tonight.

What can I do next?

If she has a fever but is not acting uncomfortable, I would not treat it. The fever indicates her body is having a good immune response to the shot. 38° C is around 100.5° F, and is not a severe fever.

If she's acting miserable, then call your doctor's office – pediatricians usually have an on-call nurse to answer questions – and ask for advice.

Get her the infant tylenol or Motrin. If your doctors is closed, then call any pharmacy and they should be able to tell you the dose. CVS, Riteaid or any pharmacy. Also, your doctors should have an after hours line. Leave a message on the answering machine, and somebody should get back to you. If all else fails, call a hospital with a pediatrics unit, and ask them.

Give her Motrin...it works much better than Tylenol.

Please don't give her anymore vaccines until you check out Dr. Tenpenny's facebook page. Ask to be a friend and then post this question. You'll get lots of responses and you'll also become very educated on all vaccines.

I believe you are using the correct dose of tylenol. That is what my doctor said to use when my daughter was under a year (but she is 2 now, so it was a year ago). I would check with the doctor when the office is open tomorrow (unless symptoms get worse, then call the after hours phone number). Also, Walgreens is a national chain and has a 24 hour pharmacy if you want to reach a pharmacist.
