It would be abnormal for you so you would have a slight temperature for you. Doubt the doctor would call it a temperature to be concerned about but I run the same and when mine is that high usually something is not 'right'.
I normally have a low body temp around96.8. If I have a temp of 99.5 is it actually much higher than that bc my normal body temp is so low?
Thanks soooo much:) Thanks Jenn! I. Always feel very yucky when I'm in 99 also:( It scares me a little bc I think bc my body temp is so low that I could be really sick and wouldn't go to the hospital bc I was only 100 or so

No, your temp would be 99.5. Normal temps can be anywhere from 97-100.
I'm the same. My base temp is 96.8 (what a dumb nurse to say the other poster's lips would be blue!), so a temp in the 99's is not low grade like most. I generally feel pretty cruddy in the 99's.
once at the dr's office my temp was 96 something. the nurse said that cant be right and i said i alwayshad alow temp. she said at that low i'd have blue lips. so she told me to make sure the thermometer was all the way in the back of my tongue not just under it. now its almost always 98.6.
No...as far as I know.
I know what you're saying. I have a low normal body temp too, so when I'm at 99.5, that's like a 2 or 3 degree hike ("normal" people that'd only be a 1 degree hike). So it's not "actually much higher" because it is still just 99.5. No need for alarm though. When I'm at 99.5 I don't even take meds. I just let my body fight the bug, give myself plenty of rest and fresh fruit and veg, plenty of water and fruit-juice.
